CBSE is now working on an alternate model of assessment based on internal tests conducted by schools to prepare CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results.
On June 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic. Several students took to social media to welcome the decision but the jubiliation is temporary.
The CBSE is now working on an alternate model of assessment based on internal tests conducted by schools to prepare CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results. It is still not known how CBSE will prepare the results but several experts are of the view that it will be unfair to take previous marks into consideration as there are several students who who were preparing to improve their scores in CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021.
Several experts and students are of the view that an assessment model, which takes an average of the entire year’s tests, will also make things tougher for may students when it comes for college admissions. It is feared that the assessment model would have a long-lasting impact on the academic cycle and it will be unfair for those Class 12 students who were hoping to improve their marks in CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. It is expected that the universities across the country should also revise their cut-offs in order to create a level-playing field.

Those students who are planning to study arts or commerce in the future may also face trouble in getting admission to colleges on the basis of results prepared on the basis of internal assessment.
Those students who are planning to study aboard after completing their Class 12 are also likely to feel the negative effect of cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. Though several international universities have their own admission process, many of these foreign universities often take Class 12 marks into consideration.
FOr its part, the CBSE has said that they may allow students to take an offline exam if the situation improves but this is not a good news for students as most colleges and foreign universities will start the admission process in a few weeks.
