The Supreme Court has decided that the exam of classes 10th and 12th will be conducted offline on the date set by the board. The Supreme Court has cancelled the plea submitted by the students and took the decision in favour of the board. The CBSE has decided to conduct the exams on 26th April 2022 in offline mode. This announcement was made by CBSE 2 weeks before.

From that day students were protesting against it and wanted the board to conduct the final exams online because the classes were held online for the last 2 years. Students feel that it is unfair with them to conduct offline exams because the difficulty of offline exams is more than online exams. For that, they had filed a plea against the board in Supreme Court. The Plea has been filed for Advocate Prashant Padmanabhan before the chief justice of India N V Ramana.

The Supreme Court has given the date to announce the result. The Court had decided to announce the result on 23rd February 2022. The Supreme Court has cancelled the Plea and the exams will now be conducted offline from 26th April 2022. The Plea was filed by the Advocate was by the Advocate Anubha Shrivastava Sahai. She is an advocate as well as a child rights activist.

The plea was supported by the Student Union of Odisha – NYSC. They had appealed to students to sign a google form to fight against offline exams and thousands of students have signed that google form and appealed to the board to conduct online exams. In their plea they demanded Supreme Court to instruct the boards not to conduct board exams physically.

She also added that the reason behind this is that students are already under mental stress and pressure because Covid19 and offline exams will increase their stress. In the Plea, The students want that board should take online exams if not then it should be Objective Type exams because from last 2 years because of online classes they lost the habit of writing. In subjective exams, students have to write long answers and it would be difficult for the students.

Their lawyer also mentioned that boards should release the result on the basis of internal assessment and they should release the result as soon as possible because it would affect the further studies of students because the deadline of entrance exams of colleges will be passed and students will not be able to get admissions and their 1 years will be destroyed.

But the Supreme Court believes that offline exams are not too stressful for the students because they have been conducted before the pandemic and now the situation of Covid19 is under control that’s why the Supreme Court have cancelled their Plea and the Exams of Class 10th and 12th for Term 2 will be conducted in offline mode from 26th April 202. This decision has been made by Supreme Court on 23rd February 2022.
