Sakeena Itoo Urges JKBOSE to Declare Board Exam Results by end of April.
SRINAGAR: In a recent high-level review meeting, Jammu and Kashmir’s Education Minister, Sakeena Masood Itoo, emphasized the importance of timely declaration of board exam results. She instructed the officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) to ensure that the results for Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th are declared by the end of this month.
The minister highlighted that releasing results on time would help prevent academic delays and allow students to move into their next classes without unnecessary waiting—ultimately saving precious study time.
During the meeting, Minister Itoo reviewed JKBOSE’s overall functioning, from exam processes and curriculum updates to the integration of new technology. She stressed the need to modernize the board’s infrastructure, simplify administrative tasks, and adopt smart tech-based solutions to make the system more efficient and student-friendly.
Inclusive Education for All
A key part of the discussion focused on inclusive education, especially for Children With Special Needs (CWSN). The minister directed officials to spread more awareness and effectively implement special provisions like:
- Exemption from exam fees
- 5% relaxation in pass marks for board exams
- Flexible academic policies for students with disabilities

Collaboration for Better Education
She also asked the Directors of School Education in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions to work closely with JKBOSE to improve the overall education system in the region. Continuous engagement with stakeholders, proactive policies, and student-first reforms were highlighted as essential for raising academic standards.
The Secretary of JKBOSE, during the meeting, presented a detailed report showcasing new IT-based initiatives introduced to make board services more accessible and supportive for students.
